Dr. Christina Maneta is a licensed Conservator of antiquities and works of art in the specialties of conservation of ceramics, glass, stone, organic materials, metals, mosaics (Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Directorate of Conservation of Antiquities (292/1999).

She holds a PhD in Conservation Science (University of Lincoln, UK, 2014) recognized by DOATAP, Bachelor Degree in Conservation of Antiquities and works of art (Technological Educational Institution of Athens,1993), Degree in Pedagogical studies (Pates-Selete, Athens,1998), Certificate of Proficiency in English (University of Cambridge) and Certificato di Conoscenza dellα Lingua Italiana Livello 4 CELI 4 (Universita per Stranieri Perugia).

She currently works as Laboratory teaching staff in the Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art, University of West Attica, teaching laboratory and theory lessons in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs (e.g “Conservation of ceramic and glass”, “Museum environment and preventive conservation”, “Conservation of archaeological finds”, “Management and Conservation of ethnographic collections”).

She has worked at the Ministry of Culture at the 1st Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities in the Acropolis sculpture workshop and in the Acropolis Studies Center, at the 1st Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities, at the 11th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities in the Museums of Mykonos and Delos.

She has undertaken a variety of projects in the conservation of cultural heritage objects both under the authority of Greek Ministry of Culture and in private.

She has also worked in the Secondary and Post-Secondary Education, and in the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens, being responsible for teaching and for creating and managing conservation laboratories. She participated in various committees for the reformation of didactical schedules and as an examiner for the students’ exams and dissertations at the field of conservation of antiquities and works of art in technical schools, institutes and universities). She participated in the national examinations as a grader of the special exams for the specialty of conservation of works of art. She has both participated and given lectures at various seminaries (Ekefe Demokritos, private schools and institutes). She is co-author of Dr Lampropoulos at the book: Porcelain: Technology, Erosion and Conservation, Athens 1993, (ISBN 960-90083-2-1) and author of the PhD Thesis “Developing a strategy for desalination treatments for large collections of ancient ceramic objects from Greek archaeological contexts”, University of Lincoln, November 2014.
