The program is implemented as part of the broader Action of the Ministry of Culture entitled: “Revitalization of local craft units as a driving force of development” of the National Reco

very and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0 and is funded by the European Union – NextGeneration EU.

The Crafts Vocational Training program provides a special four-cycle program in the fields of weaving and ceramics. The aim of the project is:

  • The development of a new generation of artisans through vocational training and certificat
    ion.
  • Business support and international networking of artisans.
  • The upgrading and preservation of Greek traditional handicrafts.
  • The creation of conditions for the contact of trainees with local artisans and traditional practices.
  • The strengthening of the local economy and the promotion of the cultural heritage of Greece.

Therefore, the trainees will be equipped with high-level productive skills and knowledge regarding weaving/ceramics, which will help them take up immediate employment opportunities in the ceramic/weaving industry and/or start their own professional activity as self-employed or as a business, and teach future generations of artisans.
