Crafts Vocational Training Program

Reaffirming one of the principal justifications of its creation – serving the needs of education related to protection, and conservation of cultural heritage – CULTLAB and its Faculty Members, Lab Teaching Staff and Administrative Staff provide administrative, educational and technical support to the “Pilot Training Program of the Center for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the University of West Attica for the development of skills related to crafts” and specifically the crafts of Weaving and Ceramics.
The program is implemented as part of the broader Action of the Ministry of Culture entitled: “Revitalization of local craft units as a driving force of development” of the National Reco
very and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0 and is funded by the European Union – NextGeneration EU.
The Crafts Vocational Training program provides a special four-cycle program in the fields of weaving and ceramics. The aim of the project is:
Therefore, the trainees will be equipped with high-level productive skills and knowledge regarding weaving/ceramics, which will help them take up immediate employment opportunities in the ceramic/weaving industry and/or start their own professional activity as self-employed or as a business, and teach future generations of artisans.

The afore-mentioned directors, in collaboration with the KEDIVIM of the University of West Attica have undertaken the implementation of the educational programmes of Weaving in 6 facilities (Athens-Attica, Anogeia-Rethymno, Ardanio-Alexandroupoli, Geraki-Lakonia, Soufli-Evros and Sofiko-Didymoteixo) and of Ceramics in one facility (Athens-Attica).
