CULTLAB was founded in 2019 to serve the needs of education and research related to the study, protection, and conservation of cultural and natural heritage. Many of its members have over 30 years of experience in the field with a strong background in research and education as showcased in their coordination and participation of funded national, European and international projects, supervision of Master’s and PhD research projects, as well as institutional collaborations.  Their expertise can provide research, services, and education for cultural and natural heritage in the following areas:

  • strategic planning and surveys in the field
  • provide advice, technical assistance, and prepare technical reports
  • diagnostic examination for characterization of materials constituting the objects and     assessment of their condition
  • design of conservation plans and treatment proposals
  • preventive conservation
  • conservation treatment
  • monitoring of museums and sites, including the evaluation of the effectiveness of treatments
  • develop new materials, methods, and techniques for conservation
  • research into the materials, techniques, technology for cultural heritage objects and  their copies
